In the United Methodist tradition, baptism has no age requirements. For information on having your child baptized during a worship service at Centenary, or to schedule that event, please contact one of the pastors. We encourage all youth and adults who have not been baptized to talk with a member of the pastoral staff about the meaning of this sacrament. The most common method of baptism is sprinkling, but pouring or immersion may be chosen.   

The Sunday of the baptism, one of our pastors will meet with you prior to the service to discuss the meaning of this sacred act. After the baptism, you will receive a certificate of baptism.

During a baptism, the congregation promises to surround that infant, child, youth, or adult with steadfast love and to help him/her become established in the Christian faith.
