Middle School Youth Group:  Meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Blue Room.  They will be led by our Youth Director Mrs. Karren Husa.

High School Godparent Groups: The Godparent idea is to expose new confirmands to people who have the church as part of their lives. The group starts meeting when the kids are freshmen and the Godparents follow the group until they graduate from High School. The groups meet once a week during the school year and take the direction that the Godparents feel is needed. We try to get all 4 groups together at least once a year for a group activity. The goal is for the groups to become closer to God and hopefully a seed is planted that the church will become a permanent place in each Godparent child's life.

From Dr. Blake & Gail Butler, Senior Godparents: Our Godparent group revolves mostly around cooking. We have the kids write in their journals as soon as they arrive. We ask them to tell us something about their week and often have a question for them to answer to get them started.  Usually we have ingredients ready for them to cook their own supper and then some type of a group game to play. The group's favorite menu includes "Pizza on the Grill".  We have played "Hide and Go Seek" in our house, we have had water fights and have shot baskets. We have had outings to play Laser Tag and out to eat. We have watched movies and made cookies. Our group has helped us pick out our Christmas tree at a tree farm. We have annually shopped for a needy family at Christmas. We even went boating.

From Jana Kendall, Junior Godparent: I think that for me the Godparents program is that the kids have someone in their lives that they can turn to when needed and talk to other than their parents and family. It also helps them get to know and become friends with kids that they might not have any other interaction with. We don't do too much ... the kids mission tripcome over and we watch movies or play games. We have gone to the movies and bowling.  I really enjoy seeing th e kids each week and seeing how their weeks have gone. It is not a "churchy" time for us. I think that this helps alot in getting the kids there, knowing that it is not a Bible study group, but a group of kids who hang out and have fun.

Sophmore & Freshman Godparents are still to be determined.
